For the purpose of conducting Social Impact Assessment Study in Land Acquisition cases, a team has been constituted [S.I.A. Study Unit] with Mr. V.K. Balan, formerly Deputy Collector LA (NH), Collectorate, Kozhikode as Chairman and team leader, and consisting of well experienced retired Revenue Officers, Officers from the Survey and Land Records department and with a lady having M.S.W. qualification. The team leader Mr. V.K. Balan while working in different posts especially as Tehsildar and Deputy Collector, in Revenue department, has gained immense knowledge in the field of Acquisition, and it was considering his vast knowledge and experience in Land Acquisition, he was selected as a member of the Expert Committee constituted by the State of Kerala vide G.O.(Rt) No. 2172/14/RD dated 23-5-2014, for framing rules to the central LA. Act “The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013′.

The Veekay Consultancy Centre has been accredited and empaneled as a district level unit for conducting SIA Study in land acquisition cases by the District Collector, Kozhikode and Alappuzha [District Collectors are authorized to accredit and empanel a S I A Study Unit only in cases where the total extent involved is 200 Ares and below, and above 200 Ares, Government is the appropriate authority]. Accordingly the Government of Kerala has accredited and empaneled Vee kay Consultancy Centre’ as a state level S I A Study Unit, as per GO.(Rt) No. 982/2020/RD dated 20-3-2020.
